Are there any baby names books like this?
Filed Under Blogroll | 3 Comments
I remember seeing in a “Parenting” magazine article years ago something about a book of baby names. The unusual thing about it was that it was like a book where the author had done surveys about each name and had people tell them what they thought about that name, what kind of personality would go along with it, etc. I would check my local library, but I don’t remember the title and they have HUNDREDS of baby names books. Can anyone help with this? Thanks.

My last name is Hammer, no joke, dead serious, just like the tool. Most baby names that I have really liked don’t fit with my last name! On top of this my DH is being retarted claiming that he doesn’t like any names at all and just wants to name the baby after him if it’s a boy and me if it’s a girl. I guess I could live with a Jr. boy, but I am NOT giving my daughter my name! HELP!

We were leaning towards Ava for a girl but it was #5 on the Social Security Administration’s 2006 baby names and we’re not sure we want something that’s so popular. My husband really likes John for a boy, but it sounds so common to me. What do you think of these ideas?
Arden
Ava
Aya (eye-uh)
Elle
Eve
Evelyn
Lila
Grant
John
Lou
Thanks!

My mom is throwing my baby shower in October, and I need to be registered at least by mid- to late- September. We already have my baby’s crib, dresser, and night stand, but we are missing a lot of the big stuff.
I know we will need a high chair, playard, stroller/carseat combo, but what other things do moms and dads to be register for?
Is it silly to put diapers on the list? My mom thinks so, but those will DEFINATELY come in handy! ![]()
What did (or what are you going to) register for? And ideas will be most appreciated!
If it matters, I am registering at Babies R Us and Target.

What do you think of these baby names?

I love names that are unique, that you don’t hear too often. When it comes down to having a baby girl or boy here are the names I’ve chosen (what do you think?):
Girls:
1. Jasmine
2. Jordyn
3. Kayla
4. Saeda-Jasmine (Sah-eeda - Yaz-meen)
5. Azhya (like Asia the country)
Boys:
1. David (after the dad)
what are some unique names for boys?
Saeda - Jasmine: the story behind this name is that it’s Arabic. I’m half Moroccan. My dad’s name is similar to the first name Saeda, except that it’s made feminine with the “a” at the end of Saeda. I connected it with Jasmine, because I like the name, and it sounds good with it. =)
There is no Asian country called Azhya, it’s how you say the name Azhya. It’s pronounced like the country Asia. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
So the spelling of my dad’s name is “ew” in response to the comment of one of the Y!Answer users…thanks =)
Note taken.

I am co-hosting a baby shower this weekend and we are having it at 10:30 in the morning so we were thinking about having just a brunch type meal, such as light breakfast foods but we are open to just about any suggestions. Thanks!
