My cousin is having her first baby and the baby shower is next month. My cousin is completely deaf and many of her friends are also deaf. The baby shower will be a mix of deaf and hearing individuals. What kinds of games/activities would bring the two groups together? I just don’t want the entire baby shower to be segregated between the hearing and those who can’t hear.
It seems like it may be difficult to put together because some of the hearing individuals (me included) don’t use sign language.

Any ideas for a successfull baby shower??

Carlos

Baby Shower Diaper Cakes and Baby Shower Invitations for Shower Party Celebration!!

While you could create your own Baby Shower Party Diaper Cakes, most of us don’t have the time to tie ribbon around dozens of individual diapers then assembled everything with tape. Plus, some of us just don’t have the creativity, the patience, or the craft skills necessary to make the type of Baby Diaper Cakes we want the guest of honor to have. Remember lots of people will be seeing these Baby Shower Diaper Cakes for baby. Buying one might be a better choice. However, before you buy there are some things to consider.

Tips for Buying Diaper Cakes for Baby Showers

If you’re going to buy, make sure to find out which type of diapers has been used in the end product. Since parents can use these diapers with their own babies, you want to make sure that the cakes aren’t being made of low quality diapers. Parents with experience will tell you there are a real difference among diaper brands.

Remember the whole purpose of Creating Baby Shower Party Diaper Cakes is to offer something practical to the new parents. If the diapers aren’t going to be usable or are just going to create more work for the parents, they certainly aren’t going to appreciate your efforts as much. If nothing else, you can sometimes request that specific diapers be used if the cake is being made from scratch.

More Tips for Buying a Baby Shower Diaper Cake

You also need to know how each cake has been assembled. You need the diapers to be easy to remove so the parents can use them at a later date. However, when Making Baby Diaper Cakes the tiers should be put together using glue or other types of adhesives. The best method is to use good old-fashioned tape. If you’re having the cake made from scratch, you can always make this request, too.

If the Cakes Baby Shower have not been assembled yet, you could ask to have the tiers be sent to you without being assembled so you can do the finishing touches using tape to make sure the diaper cake can be easily taken apart by the new parents. You can include this request in the Baby Shower Invitations and your own special Baby Shower Invitations Wordings, Verses and Sayings.

Baby Shower Diaper Cakes Buying Tip #3

Don’t forget to request a rundown of what is being included in the diaper cakes in terms of embellishments. You want everything to be brand new so don’t trust sellers who don’t specify. They might try to sneak in some used items just to lower their own costs. With your newborn baby, used items are generally not something you want to use, especially when they came from strangers. If you really want to be safe, buy the cake and ask to have the embellishments left off. Then you can your own and add them yourself.

Always ask exactly what is being included in the price of the baby shower diaper cakes. You want to be sure you get everything what is pictured unless you ask for something different. It’s a good idea to ask for brand names as well so you can determine the quality of the embellishments.

When are Best Time and Best Place to Have the Baby Showers

Planning and attending a baby shower is a joyous occasion. Deciding when and where to hold the baby shower party can seem overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Whatever the type of baby shower planned or when it is held, ensuring that the Mom-to-Be has a great and memorable time is most important. This is the time when those around the expectant mother can shower the mother with love and excitement for her new arrival. Read More About Best Time and Best Place to Have a Baby Shower.

Determining the date for the baby shower will largely depend on if the Mom-to-Be prefers to have a welcome home baby shower or a traditional baby shower. Regardless of when the shower is held, the personalized baby shower invitations should be mailed between four to six weeks prior to the shower party. The baby shower should definitely be held at least a month or two prior to the due date of the baby. Unless the Mom-to-Be have decided not to find out the gender of the baby, the baby shower theme and custom invitations for baby shower should reflect the gender of the baby. If it is a twins baby shower or multiple baby shower, then the shower theme can be specific to a twins baby shower party.

Having welcome home baby showers have become more popular, which is usually held a month or two after the baby is born to allow for the parents to adjust to their new life with their baby. Regardless of when the shower is held, it is best not to hold it too close to the due date of the baby, either before or after. The printed welcome home baby invitations can be personalized with the appropriate theme of the shower party.

Before setting the date, find out from out of town guests or important guests if they are available on the dates that are being considered. If the plan is to have the baby shower at a location other than a home, then it is important to keep in mind that it will be more expensive if the shower is held on a Friday night or Saturday. Sundays seem to be the least expensive day to hold showers if it is held at a location other than a home.

When choosing a location, the first thing to consider is if the place chosen is big enough to accommodate a large group - having everyone comfortable will allow for a more relaxed baby shower. Hosting a baby shower in a home will save money; however, money will still be spent on baby shower party supplies like plates, napkins, cups, eating utensils and potentially renting tables. If holding the baby party at a restaurant has been decided, then ensure that the location is booked early. Visiting the locations would be wise to ensure that the space will hold the invited guests, gifts and still have enough room to maneuver around for baby shower games, decorations, etc.

Deciding on the type, sending the unique baby shower invitations cards are an important time for the Mom-to-Be and her family. Between the host and the Mom-to-Be, the type of baby shower invitations may be a baby shower announcement because the shower itself will be a co-ed baby shower or couples baby shower. This is also a great time to purchase the baby shower thank you cards, keeping with the theme of the baby shower. Baby shower invitations wordings, verses and sayings are available online at many websites.

History of Baby Shower Thank You Cards

Before the days of email and the internet, people communicated via phone calls and letters. Before phones, the spoken word and letters were the main form of communication. So after a baby shower was held, it was expected that the Mom-to-Be who received the gifts would send personalized baby shower thank you notes the week after the shower was held. Read More About History of Baby Shower Thank You Cards.

As the Mom-to-Be most likely didn’t have a great deal of time or energy due to the pregnancy, the baby shower printed thank you cards were relatively short thanking the person for the gift and maybe giving them a quick update on how the pregnancy was going. The more familiar the two were, the more detail and time would be spent on the shower thank you cards.

Although, in the old days baby showers were formal affairs for people with a great deal of money, the middle class also participated in baby showers but the gifts tended to be more practical in nature and cost less than the baby showers of the high society circles.

The shower itself was important, but then the baby shower celebration is done and the party went off without a hitch. The food was fantastic, decorations spectacular and the personalized baby shower invitations were original. There is one last task to be completed—the personalized baby shower thank you cards need to be written and sent to all those who gave gifts or contributed to the baby shower in any way.

Even though the Mom-to-Be thanked each guest at the shower, the guests are always very excited to receive a custom baby shower thank you card from the Mom-to-Be. Every one made a special effort to be at the shower, so this is a special way to thank the guests with a personal thank you telling how much their attendance meant to the Mom-to-Be, or Parents-to-Be, depending on the type of shower held.

The baby shower thank you cards should be ordered at the same time as the baby shower invitations. But, why are thank you cards needed? Aside from the obvious answer - to thank your guests for coming to the shower, but also for the gifts that were given to the baby. Sending them a personal, personalized baby thank you card is a kind gesture back to them.

While some people might feel that a simple phone call will do the trick to thank guests for coming to the shower and for the gift; however, the personalized baby shower thank you card will serve as a keepsake for both you and the guests of the shower. Along with the baby shower invitation, the baby thank you card can go inside of the baby book for the baby to see when they are older.

Since the printed baby shower invitations can be ordered online, so can the baby shower thank you cards. It will save time and money to purchase these items together. Plus the theme will be consistent through both the shower invitations and the baby thank you cards. When buying the baby invitations and thank you cards, many websites have sample baby shower thank you cards wording verses, ideas and sayings to use.

Baby shower thank you cards are simple and a great way to thank the guests for the gifts and for making the shower such a special occasion by attending.

Mary asked:

My Mom is currently planning a Baby Shower for my Husband and I. We have 36 guests that are being invited and the shower will be held in our home. It will be a somewhat tight fit, if everyone shows up and if anyone brings their children. It’s been suggested that we have two seperate parties. One on Saturday with my family and one on Sunday with his. I’d rather have everyone together, but I realize how small our home is. What are the chances that everyone will show up anyway?
Yes, we’ve all heard of RSVP, however some people aren’t very polite and don’t do this.

We don’t want to rent a place, that’s money that could be used towards our guests(food, etc.) or our new baby.

I’m not looking for rude answers, so please think about your response.

Brad
